HLTAID015 Provide Advanced Resuscitation 18 June 2018

On Monday 18 June 2018, Allens Training is delivering the HLTAID007 Provide Advanced Resuscitation course in our Birtinya Training Centre on the Sunshine Coast. This course is open to the public, and you can secure your spot in the course by booking online or by phoning 07 5438 8888.

Who needs this certificate?

Most employers and workplaces require HLTAID009 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation and HLTAID0011 Provide First Aid, as these are the most common first aid courses. However, certain tertiary study and job positions require people to hold a current HLTAID0015 Provide Advanced Resuscitation certificate.

This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to use specialised equipment in the provision of resuscitation in line with the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) guidelines.

The unit applies to workers who may be required to use specialised equipment to provide resuscitation in a range of complex situations, including community and workplace settings. This could include jobs such as rescue workers, lifesavers, aged care workers, and workers in a range of recreational situations such as swimming pools, stadiums, gyms, clubs, and hotels.

Assessment

The candidate must be able to demonstrate essential knowledge required to effectively complete tasks outlined in the elements and performance criteria of this unit, and to manage tasks and contingencies in the context of the work role.

The demonstrated evidence is performed in line within state/territory regulations, first aid codes of practice, Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) guidelines, and workplace procedures.

Skills must be demonstrated working individually in an environment that provides realistic in-depth, industry-validated scenarios and simulations to assess candidates’ skills and knowledge.

Assessment at the end of the course is to show the instructor that you have an appropriate understanding of the procedures necessary to manage a life-threatening situation.

This will consist of a theory assessment and practical demonstrations.

What will I gain?

At the successful completion of this course, participants will be issued with a statement of attainment valid for 1 year*. The certificate will contain the following units:
